The place is made obviously with thought in mind how themselves would like to stay in a similar place. Very clean toilets/bathrooms, clean rooms, they put some curtains on each bed so that one would get that degree of privacy which makes a difference from an open space type of hostel. (I never understood why wouldn't be possible for the hostels, especially with loads of beds in a dorm, to put some curtains (which cannot be that expensive). Good matreses, nice hot pool and sauna and a very nice social space downstairs which hosts events from time to time, the rune type of writing everywhere, really nice staff!

Location is perfect, the one thing is you have to go supermarket approximately 25-30 minutes but since you will be always in road you can make your shopping while you come back to house. Room has its own balcony and have a beautiful sightseeing. I definetly recommend the place

We had an incredible stay here. The hospitality was perfect, the breakfast was really varied and delicious. The beds and everything was very comfortable. They have a hot tube which we could enjoy at night.

Welcome to Aurora Lodge Hotel, where adventure awaits! Our complex of 8 charming buildings sits right on the banks of the East Rangá River, just a stone's throw from the Icelandic Route 1 (Ring Road)... Very cozy facilities and the hot tub outside was a plus when we arrived and it was freezing. Large rooms and perfect lobby for a drink while watching the snow fall. Breakfast was 10/10!

The family-owned Hótel Lækur is set on an Icelandic horse farm, between the Golden Circle and the south coast. Hella is 10 minutes’ drive away. It offers a sun terrace and a guest lounge. It was a very snowy and windy day, but despite the harsh weather, our host was incredibly welcoming. Even the following day, when the conditions remained just as bad, she was kind enough to offer us a late check-out at no extra charge. She didn’t rush us to leave, which made our stay even more comfortable and stress-free. To make our experience even better, they provided us with a free breakfast, which was absolutely amazing. The food was fresh, delicious, and exactly what we needed to start the day. It was a thoughtful touch that made us feel even more at home. The place itself was cozy and inviting, with a warm and homely atmosphere. One of the highlights was the game/chill room, which had a wide variety of games, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Whether it was board games, card games, or other entertainment options, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Overall, it was a truly wonderful and memorable stay, made even better by the thoughtful and accommodating host. We would definitely love to return!
