A beautiful homemade cake was waiting for us in the lodge. The pool was wonderful with the same exceptional views. There is so much to do in this area. The fascinating medieval town of Pontremoli was within half an hours drive and the port of La Spezia and the towns of Massa and Carrara with their sandy beaches and famous marble quarries were also easily reached by car, as was the Cinque Terre. There were many restaurants nearby, including a lovely local authentic restaurant, just a minutes walk from the property. The best thing, though, about our short time at the lodge was the wonderful Alessandra and her lovely family who went out of their way to look after us and make us feel totally at home and part of their family. A truly unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back.

Everyone we met was warm, welcoming, and passionate about what they do. We also enjoyed some amazing food! One day we ate at Trattoria Quinta Terra, a charming spot near the castle of Fosdinovo with a stunning view. Another night we dined at Terra della Luna – a truly special, family-run place with delicious food and an authentic atmosphere.
