Lake Ashi is 4.9 km from the villa. The opportunity to stay in a Japanese villa, in a great location by Lake Ashi, with a kitchen and plenty of space was amazing. Then, the hot springs shower and tub was super special. It truly was healing to our bodies that were a bit worn out from travel. Yes, stay here! We hope to stay longer next time. It was a little hard to find. Yet, a kind gentleman was watching out for us and directed us.

Loved the design of our room and having 2 separate beds allowed us to rest and recharge. Sadly we had only 1 onsen on the balcony, so we took turns with my husband. There was a cd player with several Jazz collections. Restaurant food was delicious and the staff made sure to explain the menu and answer all the questions we had. Most of the time they’d use the portable translators. Hot springs/ spa area was rotated every morning, so we got to experience both bath areas. My favorite treat was the vinegar drink after the baths.

12 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, YUPOPPO Hakone is a recently renovated property situated in Hakone and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Each accommodation at the 2-star ryokan has mountain views, and guests can enjoy access to a hot spring bath and a hot tub. The ryokan has parking on-site, a public bath and a housekeeping service. The ryokan is close to a bus station, restaurants and convenient stores, so the location is very good! It was a very nice and quiet place. The room and bathroom were very clean and the host very friendly and accommodating! The onsen, even though basic, it was amazing to relax in after a long day of sightseeing.Their theme is trains and the decorations are relevant to this but in an elegant way! It was like a Ghibli studio movie! I highly recommend this ryokan!

The gym was very well equipped and open 24 hours…even Chris Bumsted (Mr Olympia) would have been happy. The spa facilities were excellent.

SAKE Kura Hotel 川崎宿 offers a hot tub. Staffs were very nice, the location was comfy as well. The room has no windows but it was very nice to rest and sleep. Wish that the breakfast has more options but all in all everything was good.

The Japanese style room is very nice. We really had the authentic feeling of Japan. The staff were very friendly. We took the kaiseki dinner and I can only recommend it. What a joy to eat! We booked the private onsen which I would recommend too. During dinner they change the table for the futons to sleep. This was our favourite stay in Japan
