J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine. Whole space was clean and very nice, comfortable to be in. The private onsen was experience and a bonus to choose from 3 (2indoors and 1outdoor) was very highlight. The kichen is well organised and clean.

The temple is gorgeous and serene. We had the family room with a private bathroom which was clean and a good size for our family. The dinner was perfection and one of the best meals we had in Japan. We wish we had booked for longer.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this guest house, and it exceeded all my expectations! 1️⃣ Perfect Location: The guest house is right next to Kii-Nagashima Station and sits directly on the Kumano Kodo trail, making it an ideal choice for hikers. You can start your trek right from the doorstep—so convenient! 2️⃣ Delicious Meals: The host prepares incredible meals! The lunch box (bento) was especially great for taking on the hike—tasty, filling, and packed with energy. Breakfast and dinner were also fantastic! 3️⃣ Thoughtful Hospitality: Since it was the rainy season, my shoes got completely soaked. The host kindly dried them for me using a dryer—such a considerate gesture that made a huge difference! 4️⃣ Great Sake & Umeshu: During dinner, the host shared some amazing sake and umeshu (plum wine). Both were delicious, especially the umeshu—sweet and smooth, a perfect way to unwind after a long hike. 5️⃣ Easy Communication: The host speaks both English and Chinese and even uses WeChat, which made communication effortless. As a Chinese speaker, I really appreciated this! 6️⃣ Perfect Stay Overall: Everything—from the cozy room to the food, drinks, and hospitality—was outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would 100% recommend it to anyone hiking the Kumano Kodo. 高野山 宿坊 光明院 -Koyasan Shukubo Komyoin- se găsește în Koyasan, la aproximativ 39 km de Kishi Station și la 45 km de Matsushita Park. Our best stay in Japan, an experience we will never forget. The temple itself is a beautiful, peaceful place just a few steps away from Okunoin. Our room was spacious and clean, really comfortable and equipped with everything we needed: yukata and tanzen, towels and toothbrush, tea set; toilets were shared but located in the same corridor. The food was light yet delicious and made us feel full and happy :) The monks have been welcoming and we really apprecciated having the chance to attend the ceremonies and the meditation held in the beautiful main hall; they communicate in english and in the room you can find detailed english information about the activities. We didn't use it because we had other plans but there is also a onsen for the guests. We left Koyasan feeling so serene and wish to be back one day!

I absolutely loved Surf Inn G-Sun the perfect end to a wonderful working holiday in Nippon :-) The owner was very helpful and we talked and laughed and was also driven to Wakayama castle for a half day trip before being personally dropped of at the train station

Located in the sacred Mount Koya area, 高野山 宿坊 桜池院 -Koyasan Shukubo Yochiin- is a historic temple and an accommodation for visitors. Such a clean, comfortable place! The monges were also very nice and spoke great english. Would 100% recommend

Samsara Inn 今だけオープン特別価格 oferă cazare cu WiFi gratuit și climatizare în Tanabe, la 15 minute de mers pe jos de Plaja Tanabe Ogigahama și la 400 m de Tokei Shrine. Very good location! Close to the station as well as multiple restaurants. The owner was also very kind and accommodating. I left something in the bathroom after checkout and one of their staff was so kind and came all the way to the station to look for me. Absolutely recommend this place!

Spacious, comfortable, washer and dryer ready, quiet at night but unfortunately it’s cloudy on our stay otherwise night sky will be excellent
