J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine. We stayed there for one night while trekking the Kumano Kodo. Basically, everything was perfect for a one night stay after a long day of hiking. The capsules were spacious and quite private actually. The bento box provided for dinner was tasty. There are three private onsens that you can book. Yunomine Onsen itself is very lovely and you can easily continue your trek either on foot or by bus, as the bus stop is very close. Would definitely stay there again!

Minshuku Wago is truly an exceptional place! The owner is incredibly kind, and the hospitality was the best we've experienced. It was a rainy and chilly day, and the owner kindly asked if we would like to use the ofuro, we said yes, and the owner prepared everything perfectly for my husband and me. The room was spacious and clean, and we appreciated having access to laundry. They also provided three delicious meals, including a bento for our Kumano Kodo hike. We felt so well taken care of. highly recommended!

It was such an amazing experience. Thank you to the monk staff who were so kind and patient and guided us through meditation custom and practices. Our room included shojin ryori (buddhist vegetarian cuisine) breakfast and dinner which was very balanced and filling. I feel a sense of gratitude and peace coming back to Tokyo. I would like to go every year if I can.

Bed was comfortable, there is a heater to make it comfortable for you. They took the time to show us a great spot for cherry blossom viewing! I definitely stay again, maybe even a night more to enjoy the beautiful countryside.

Located in the sacred Mount Koya area, 高野山 宿坊 桜池院 -Koyasan Shukubo Yochiin- is a historic temple and an accommodation for visitors. Amazing experience! So comfortable with great food! The highlight was definitely the monks who were so kind. Very very grateful to the young Swedish monk who took his time to explain his journey and answered all our questions, helping our immersion in the beautiful culture surrounding esoteric buddhism, this temple and Koyasan as a whole. Highly recommended!

Close to the station as well as multiple restaurants. The owner was also very kind and accommodating. I left something in the bathroom after checkout and one of their staff was so kind and came all the way to the station to look for me. Absolutely recommend this place!
