The hotel staff are very helpful. The room was great, our semi-outdoor bath looked out into a little garden. They had a small outdoor onsen, perfect for a cold winter evening. Our set breakfast and dinner were fantastic, as we had a private dining room. The complimentary drinks were a nice welcome for a cold wet day.

A very traditional Japanese guest house with ultra friendly and accommodating hosts. This property has been in their family for generations and they go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent and there was an English explanation for each dish served 😊. A big bonus is the short walk to the stairs to climb Mt Haguro. (Not that that makes the stairs any easier!) We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here!

The villa was clean and cozy, with great attention to detail. Service was prompt, professional and very reassuring. The dinner and breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety. The staff were incredibly helpful and nice. The room was spacious, clean and had the most incredible view of the surrounding snowcapped mountains. Location was great. And the private bathhouse was a plus for someone shy like me.
