This was a beautiful house to stay in. It had a modern , large , clean bedroom & bathroom . You are the only guests , and there is lovely staff to help with luggage , do laundry & serve breakfast . The host is great & also very helpful . The western breakfast was delicious ! The house is in a residential neighbourhood , with good security .

He went out of his way to help us plan our days in Mihintale exactly as we wished—and what he managed to organize for us was no small feat! He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. It's rich with temples and spiritual atmosphere. Stay at Janaka’s place, ask him for advice, and you won’t be disappointed.

If you stay a week or more a kitchen can be used. Every day around 18.00 hours you can see elephants quite nearby at one of the thee lakes. 2 or 3 or 6. Very exiting. They come to drink water. It was the best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka during our two-week trip. Our room met all the standards: it was clean, with no signs of mold, the water was sufficiently warm, and the Wi-Fi worked well. The terrace is also a great bonus. We also appreciated the helpfulness of the host, David. Accomodation is close to main sights.

Surrounded by ancient ruins and temples, Gamodh Citadel Resort offers you comfort with cosy accommodation by the garden or the pool. It houses an outdoor swimming pool and a library. Staff were so helpful and considerate ,both the manager and the guy who served us at restaurant. They even managed to prepare us breakfast the days that we had to leave before breakfast time. Tours they offer also have the best price. Swimming pool was very beautiful and large. Breakfast is great especially oat pancakes with coconut filling
