This was the most amazing place to stay. The room was huge with plenty of seating, a desk, tea and coffee maker, small fridge/mini bar, air conditioner and a fabulous bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The home has solar panels and we were there the day Sri Lanka had a national blackout. The solar kept everything in the house running for hours, while the rest of the town was completely blacked out. You couldn't ask for anything more than that. The host cooked breakfast to order - you had a choice of Sri Lankan or western, both accompanied by fresh fruit, fruit juice, tea or coffee and as much toast as you could eat. The host is a Doctor and delights in entertaining you. The place could not be better. You have to stay there.

Our host Aruna was fantastic; very welcoming, kind and friendly. The breakfast was lovely and full of traditional food and fresh fruit. The room was perfect and had everything we needed, including the balcony and outdoor jacuzzi pool. We loved the location and surrounding forest and the hotel is a great base to explore Sigiriya and other highlights. Hearing the monkeys on our treehouse roof and seeing lots of wildlife was an added bonus! Would thoroughly recommend!

He went out of his way to help us plan our days in Mihintale exactly as we wished—and what he managed to organize for us was no small feat! He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. It's rich with temples and spiritual atmosphere. Stay at Janaka’s place, ask him for advice, and you won’t be disappointed.

If you stay a week or more a kitchen can be used. Every day around 18.00 hours you can see elephants quite nearby at one of the thee lakes. 2 or 3 or 6. Very exiting. They come to drink water. Our room met all the standards: it was clean, with no signs of mold, the water was sufficiently warm, and the Wi-Fi worked well. The terrace is also a great bonus. We also appreciated the helpfulness of the host, David. Accomodation is close to main sights.

Best place we stayed in Sri Lanka! The staff were super friendly and helpful. They arranged an early check in for us. The room was very comfortable and clean and the pool was super nice! The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Highly highly recommend!

Tours they offer also have the best price. Swimming pool was very beautiful and large. Breakfast is great especially oat pancakes with coconut filling
