The residence is well maintained, very clean and tidy. The location inside the plantations is suggestive and relaxing. The staff is welcoming and gentle.

We had a great stay. The staff were extremely attentive and made our stay very enjoyable. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and the hotel food was fantastic, offering a variety of food options for breakfast and dinner. The hotel also went above and beyond, helping us to arrange a taxi from Ella and a Yala safari, which was the highlight of our whole trip to Sri Lanka. We would definitely recommend a stay at MCR.

I loved the authenticity of the place and the people here. Chilled backpacker vibes. Roberto is a great host ensuring a very warm welcome to guests offering tea etc . Loved the rustic architecture , very much in tune to surrounding Nature complimented with the animals on site. Lodge is set by the river so you can go for a dip and cool down. And ample space for you to relax, read and do yoga.

If you like a bit of adventure into the wild, this is the pace for you! Situated only 20 minutes drive from the National Park entrance, you will get the perfect quiet & chill atmosphere away from everything. The two hammocks in the patio will help you relax even more. Breakfast & Dinner were simply delicious (homemade products). Room is good and bathroom is just outside. I would recommend the Jeep Safari experience. Great place for relaxing. It is very calm and a place to take a break. Rooms are large and spacious. We got them to prepare lunch for us, and the food was great. Would recommend all guest to try their local dishes.

Cannot recommend this property enough! It’s beautifully situated right by a serene river, the rooms are spacious and modern with good AC and a large bathroom. The food are the restaurant is outstanding! And the team who run the place are the friendliest most welcome people we’ve come across in our Sri Lanka, they provided the best service!

Our stay at River Lodge was very pleasant. The room was clean, spacious, comfy bed & shower. You can hear the river from the rooms and restaurant. The local Sri Lankan food was really tasty. The owner and his colleagues are very friendly and made us feel like home. In the morning we took bath in the river and lay in the grass under the trees to read a book. The room is very cheap for the quality of the stay. We really recommend staying at River Lodge!
