Situated along Hardanger Fjord, this waterfront hotel offers views of Folgefonna Glacier, indoor and outdoor pools, along with a private beach area. Wi-Fi access and private parking are both free. Second time visit here, I'll say the yard is one of the best spot of hardanger fjord. Renovated room is very clean and huge. Also with coffee/tea facilities and a fridge, which used to have none. Like it very much. Had three nights buffet dinner. The qarm dishes and pastries changed daily. Has a huge variety of seafood and pastries. Comparing to last time I visited, the food imporved a lot. But I do missed the harp live performance. The basement (ground floor) changed but still have a lot to explore. You can find lots of stories belonging to Edvard Grieg and history of this hotel there. There are also several seating area, each with different kinds of feeling. The atmosphere is fantastic. I tried playing my instrument in one of the area in a rainy day and love it.

The jacuzzi and the sauna are clean, very relaxing after a hike. The staff is also amazing and very helpful! If you have no gear for the hike, you can rent from the hotel (the gear was perfectly fine, very comfortable boots.

Honestly I loved this place so much, I do not understand any of the negative reviews!? The host was super responsive and kind. This was a perfect stay.
