We loved our stay at Ratatnui Lodge - the staff was so accommodating to anything and everything we needed. The rooms were very comfortable; outdoor jacuzzi (needed to be cleaned but still nice) and pool area were a great bonus. Included breakfast was amazing and I had the delicious blueberry pancakes both days. Dinner and Bar/Drinks were also exceptional. Location is great for exploring the north and west side of Abel Tasman. We planned to take a water taxi to the east side but the road was closed to due slips (not a problem we did that on our way out from the east side of the park). Room included basics such as tea and coffee - robes included for relaxing. Truly this was one of our favorite places we stayed. Staff helped us coordinate our activities and when we had to cancel one due to the road being out they made sure we got our refund. Amazing stay!!!

She gave us all the instructions needed to have an excellent stay, and even let us help train the alpacas in the morning. The location was private and peaceful at night. It was like we were alone under the stars. We will never forget our time at Nat’s house truck.

Outdoor hot tub (star gazing at night), sauna and jet swim pool, sun decks, bird aviary. Accommodations - private bed/bath, shared living room and dining room with lots of space and furniture, outdoor sun deck area with seating and tables. Brochures for areas of interest in Nelson. Filip and Sonya were fabulous hosts-very hospitable and generous with information and recommendations. The shuttle service to Abel Tasman made a day tramping in the park seamless. We enjoyed the accommodations so much we were lucky enough to be able to extend our stay by one day. Pōhara is an excellent location for visiting the Golden Bay and I can’t recommend the Bay Lodge highly enough.
