Avalon, in a tranquil garden setting, offers self-catering cottages with free Wi-Fi and balconies overlooking the valley and the Puketotora River. 2 nights was not enough. A peaceful retreat which was very quiet and beautiful. Close to town with a car but night be a bit far out without. I loved this olace. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable

I’d love to recommend this amazing place because more people definitely need to know about it! It is an incredibly stylish, spotless, and thoughtfully designed home. I travelled solo, and it was the perfect spot to unwind and soak up the tranquillity. The breakfast was simply delightful. It truly added a cosy and cheerful touch to my mornings. Every little detail has been carefully considered, making it feel just like home. The location is equally fantastic – surrounded by nature yet conveniently close to Kerikeri and Paihia. If you’re looking for a place to relax, enjoy comfort, and experience a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is absolutely worth a visit. I’d happily return again!

Munchies provided made a wonderful, much-appreciated evening snack as well as morning breakfast. Opening up the suite for me (I arrived after dark) was also much appreciated.

The spa and pool are great, on a clear night you can lie in the spa and gaze at the stars! The accommodation is very well set up with everything you can imagine needing and more plus an awesome games room with pool table, football table and lots of other games. Plus there is beautiful lighting everywhere. The owners are so lovely and helpful.

Set up above the town and away from traffic.noise, the apartment has a lovely view across the bay. The apartment is spacious, comfortably furnished, and well equipped. The host is friendly and helpful.

We liked Bellrock Lodge and this little village so much, we even extended our stay! :) It is worth staying longer in Kororareka Russell and especially at Bellrock Lodge, so let us tell you why: Bellrock Lodge is situated on a little hill (if you walk, there are a few steep meters) and because of that, you will have the most amazing views from your terrace over the coast. On clear days you will even see as far as Waitangi. The apartment and the terrace are quite spacious, even the bathroom offers more than usual space in rental properties. It is very nice equipped. The garden is beautiful so you also see beautiful garden greenery from the terrace. The hosts Catherine and Stuart are very kind and responded fast via WhatsApp. Their sweet dog Piper was also a great host and excited to offer play time with her favorite football and such :D Catherine and Stuart were always very hospitable, so for instance, if you get in a morning rain like us, getting new towels is easy peasy, just a message/call away ;-) The Lodge offers great amendities: laundry, dryer, DVD Library (great selection, we loved it), CD and Book Library aswell... To top it off, the Whirlpool and BBQ area are great, with superb views also. We loved to enjoy the Spa, especially on rainy days. In addition to that, we highly appreciated how thoughtful everything is equipped, there are umbrellas in the driveway, wineglasses from plastic for the Spa, different chairs (even comfy reading/TV chairs), more than 2 different towel sizes and many more things like that.. We have travelled a lot and Bellrock Lodge is one of our favorites. You nearly forget, that you are at a self-service accomendation because everything is so thoughtfully done. It is worth staying longer, you can experience a lot in the area, walk to the beaches from Bellrock if you want to, get groceries and have great restaurants/cafés in town.
