Surrounded by 80 000m² of beautiful gardens, this 5-star hotel is 4 km from Évora city centre and housed in a renovated 15th-century convent. It offers a piano bar and free parking. The pool was gorgeous, and the pool bar, food, drink, and staff were excellent. The grounds were amazing, it was like staying in a museum. The restaurants were delightful, the food delicious. The price for all these outstanding grounds, the room and accommodating service was incredible.

Two weary cyclists arrived for one night. We were delighted! Ines—one of the owners— is warm and welcoming. Our room was splendid—comfortable, lovely, overlooking the beautiful pool. Breakfast was perfect—obrigado Patricia! We liked this beautiful Solar ( a former school where Ines was a schoolgirl—how cool!) so much that we stayed one more night! My friend left for work in Lisboa and I stayed for a third night! One night turned into three because it is so delightful! I have cycled 94,000+km around the world and have stayed at well over 1000+ hotels around the world on every continent except Antarctica—Solar Dos Frades is one of the best! Obrigado Ines! So cozy, cool, comfy, lovely, it's hard to describe in words. I wanted to stay longer! The facilities were better than most houses/flats I've stayed in. Mosquito nets were very thoughtful and useful, highly appreciated. And the exotic vibe of the animals next door was a bonus. Fresh bread in the morning another bonus! Lovely people to deal with. Everything 5 stars!
