Located within the walls of the Marvão Castle, at the top of the high village of Marvão, Dom Dinis Marvão features a rooftop terrace with a Jacuzzi® and panoramic views of the countryside below. We got upgraded to the best room, that has a small terrace with a stunning view and direct access to the jacuzzi that we also enjoyed after booking in the reception. Everyone was nice, the room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast.

Surrounded by 80 000m² of beautiful gardens, this 5-star hotel is 4 km from Évora city centre and housed in a renovated 15th-century convent. It offers a piano bar and free parking. The pool was gorgeous, and the pool bar, food, drink, and staff were excellent. The grounds were amazing, it was like staying in a museum. The restaurants were delightful, the food delicious. The price for all these outstanding grounds, the room and accommodating service was incredible.

Two weary cyclists arrived for one night. We were delighted! Ines—one of the owners— is warm and welcoming. Our room was splendid—comfortable, lovely, overlooking the beautiful pool. Breakfast was perfect—obrigado Patricia! We liked this beautiful Solar ( a former school where Ines was a schoolgirl—how cool!) so much that we stayed one more night! My friend left for work in Lisboa and I stayed for a third night! One night turned into three because it is so delightful! I have cycled 94,000+km around the world and have stayed at well over 1000+ hotels around the world on every continent except Antarctica—Solar Dos Frades is one of the best! Obrigado Ines! This little cottage is in the most beautiful location. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The village is spectacular. We felt so privileged to be able to ‘live’ in such a special place for a few days. The terrace and the views are wonderful. Lots of lovely restaurants in the village. The local lake beach is fab with a great restaurant and lots of water activities. The communication from the hosts was friendly and responsive. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
