Two weary cyclists arrived for one night. We were delighted! Ines—one of the owners— is warm and welcoming. Our room was splendid—comfortable, lovely, overlooking the beautiful pool. Breakfast was perfect—obrigado Patricia! We liked this beautiful Solar ( a former school where Ines was a schoolgirl—how cool!) so much that we stayed one more night! My friend left for work in Lisboa and I stayed for a third night! One night turned into three because it is so delightful! I have cycled 94,000+km around the world and have stayed at well over 1000+ hotels around the world on every continent except Antarctica—Solar Dos Frades is one of the best! Obrigado Ines! The room we had was very comfortable and spacious with a large attractive bathroom. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and varied. We had a very relaxing stay out in the countryside.

Very nice hotel, lots of room to walk around and good breakfast. When I decided to run in the early morning, I was followed by an adorable red dog that lives on the territory of the hotel. And this dog ran with me all 21 km. cheerfully and easily, after that we became friends with him. So, here even dogs help guests to have a good time!

Situated between Alqueva and Pedrógão, municipality of Vidigueira in Alentejo, and 9 km from the Alqueva dam, this charming country house offers air-conditioned rooms with cable TV. Pool not heated .. would be fine for warmer months of course. But did not spoil our stay. We loved it ! The food was incredible … wine spectacular. We had a lovely Wine tasting & staff were all fantastic! Wish we stayed longer & look forward to coming back soon.

The beds were also extremely comfortable, which made our stay even more relaxing. Our hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home during the whole week. Their warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine kindness made our stay unforgettable. Even our teenagers loved the place, which says a lot! The breakfasts were delicious, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the location is perfect for exploring the surrounding region. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — highly recommended to anyone visiting the area!
