The historic Margretetorps Gästgifvaregård is located by Hallandsåsen mountain ridge, a 10-minute drive from Ängelholm city centre. The grounds and hotel are a lovely mix of charming and contemporary but in keeping with the original buildings. I have never seen a hotel room with such attention to detail… hooks… robes… lighting etc. The beds were unbelievably comfortable and if I lived here would order one. This hotel was one of our favourite places during our 2 weeks in Sweden. Would absolutely stay here again!

Waking up to birdsong, sitting on the balcony with views over fields and the sea in the background. I was sorry I could only stay one night. Very nice and healthy breakfast. The cheese pancakes were lovely. The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful.

Just 5 km from central Strömstad, Daftö Resort offers a summertime theme park with an outdoor pool and children's activity house. Strömstad Golf Club is 8 km away. This place was a very happy surprise in so many ways! We really did not know what to expect from a pirate-themed resort but we had a beautiful and very comfortable room. Mid-week and off-season, we had the whole resort practically to ourselves. It is situated on the water so we enjoyed a morning walk around the property. The breakfast buffet was fabulous! I can't imagine what the resort is like during the summer, it must be crazy busy with the amusement park. But if I lived near, I would definitely take my grandkids for a couple of days.

This hotel is set in a renovated 19th-century farmhouse by Abbekås's Mossbystrand Beach. It offers free Wi-Fi, in-room flat-screen TVs. Wonderful buildings and area, gorgeous spa. Great for travelling with dogs, but the separate buildings mean it is still good for people who do not want to be around dogs.
