Location is perfect for getting around the Island with its central location, but away from the hustle and bustle. The bungalows are all on the ground level and set around the pool. The kitchen is well equipped, with a large fridge freezer and ample pots, pans and dishes. WiFi is great with routers in every room. The family who own the business couldn’t be more helpful and kind. The staff are great and everything is very well maintained and clean. Guests are friendly, with lots people staying a month or even longer due to the unbeatable price to amenity ratio. The environment is laid back and it has a very homely feel. There were people of all ages and nationalities. I stayed a month and my daughter and friend joined me for 15 days. We all loved our stay. As a seasoned traveller, I’d rate it high up there with the best budget places I’ve stayed longer term in Asia. I’ll definitely be back and am sorry to leave as Phu My Hung was the highlight of my month in Phu Quoc.

Split into the beach zone and green villa zone, elegant rooms are surrounded by tropical gardens and fitted with a balcony. The spacious rooms are equipped with a 42-inch flat-screen TV with cable channels, minibar and personal safe. The en suite bathroom comes with either a shower or bathtub, hairdryer and free toiletries. We loved that our villa was oceanfront. It also has a bar where we can view the sunset and the sea water is warm. We also loved our room which was very spacious even upstairs where the bed is a loft but it was high enough that you did not have to bend over. The bed was comfy. AC was in the right place strategic to airflow during the night. The breakfast was great with a lot of variety. The food was great and the drinks were made with real fruit and delicious. The guest services were very helpful got a car for the airport and had information for any tours that you may want to go on.

The main building is gorgeously decorated and it will be impossible to resist having one of the hotel's signature drinks on the veranda overlooking the sun setting in the ocean. The rooms are gorgeous and impeccably cleaned. The food is absolutely amazing. The breakfast is spectacular and was the highlight of our day - the Vietnamese dishes offered at breakfast could compete with most of the dinners we had had during our stay in Vietnam, not to mention the pho. Mix that with a great offering of Western options - do not miss out on the Egg Benedict - and a wide variety of options, coupled with bottled fresh juice, resulted in the most enjoyable breakfast experience I've ever had. Be sure to try out the many great dishes offered at the garden restaurant (Le Jardin) and DO NOT miss out on the Vietnamese buffet offered once a week or so. And, not least, the food at the main restaurant (The Peppertree) will guarantee to blow you away. The complementary daily activities offered by the hotel were really enjoyable and provided a really nice complement and touch to our stay. We made sure to attend all of them - the afternoon tea, the cooking class, the rum tasting were all great. Do not miss out on those, nor the great spa! But what truly makes this place so special is the service. The kindess, attention and hospitality that the staff - all of the staff - at La Veranda shows you will draw you in and make you feel right at home. At the end of the stay, it felt like leaving a family.
