I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai, and it was an experience that truly stood out in every possible way. From the warm welcome at check-in to the impeccable service throughout my stay, everything was top-notch. As someone who doesn’t speak Chinese, I was a bit anxious about getting around, but the amazing staff made me feel at ease right away. Lydia and Chris were particularly incredible. Lydia went above and beyond, helping me with everything from ordering Taobao to recommending the best places to eat and visit in the city. She made navigating Shanghai a breeze and was always there with helpful tips, which made my trip so much smoother. A special mention for Chris, the bellman—this man is a true gem! Not only did he provide stellar service, but he even remembered my name each time I saw him. It’s those little touches that really make a difference, and it was clear that Chris truly cares about the guests' experience. His warm and friendly demeanor made every interaction feel personal and genuine. The room itself was a dream—super clean, comfortable, and with the best view of the Pearl Tower you could ask for. Waking up to that view was the perfect start to my day, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax after a long day of exploring.
