Our experience at The Garrison in Fort William was nothing short of exceptional. The suite exuded warmth and luxury, with a cozy and welcoming ambiance that instantly made us feel at home. The interior design was impeccable, deserving of a five-star rating. One standout feature was the well-equipped kitchen, complete with a smart TV. After a long road trip, being able to unwind on the comfortable couch while enjoying complementary coffee/tea and tea cake was a delightful treat. It provided the perfect opportunity to relax and rejuvenate before continuing our adventures. The location of The Garrison was also perfect for our family. Just a short drive away, we found entertainment for the kids at a nearby bowling alley, and the convenience of having a McDonald's nearby was an added bonus. It made dining out with the children hassle-free and enjoyable. Overall, our stay at The Garrison surpassed our expectations in every way. From the amazing suite to the thoughtful amenities and perfect location, it truly provided a memorable experience. We would highly recommend The Garrison to anyone visiting Fort William.

You must trek up the highest mountain in the uk.

You must trek up the highest mountain in the uk. If you’re lucky enough to get a good day then the views are to die for. Even the achievement in its self is worth the effort. Stay at the Ben Nevis inn at the foot of the mountain. Brilliant food in the restaurant. Nicely washed down with a few drinks.

Claimed Ben Nevis with my daughter.

Claimed Ben Nevis with my daughter. Fantastic views and weather though a bit icy and snowy at the top. I wish they would keep dogs off the mountain as some very irresponsible owners made it unsafe for others.

pricey to get the cart up and really disappointing to see how aged the carts are and dirty. Lack of information for visitors and staff just stand around chatting - whoever runs it needs to be replaced tomorrow!

You can view and photograph Ben Nevis from Corpach, which is a train-stop away, or 3 miles by road. You may have to return a day or two later, because the peak is often covered in low-cloud and mist. After 12 noon is the best time, because of the position of the sun. You can also see the Jacobite Steam Train at Corpach & Fort William. To ride on it you need to book up the previous October. I didn’t climb Ben Nevis because the view is only clear 1 day in 12, but good luck if you go for it!!

Stunning to look at.

Stunning to look at. The start of climbing it is 2 miles from the centre. Take good walking gear for sun rain and snow. The cloud comes down fast with rain then leaves and it’s sunny. Good walking boots.

Beatiful views of the mountain from Fort William and climbing possible most of the year. There is a Ski Lift which operates in good weather and gives access to get nearer to the top of the mountain without climbing. This was not possible when we stayed in April as the weather, although not that cold was damp and very misty. There are lots of local distilleries to visit if you enjoy whisky. The city is small and has nice restuarants. Loval hotels get booked up very quickly so book early in the year to avoid disappointment.

Arrived at the hotel a few minutes drive outside of Fort William but still easy enough to walk in to Fort William around 20 mins. Staff were friendly and the check in process was swift. Room was big enough with good facilities and was clean. Room also looked onto Ben Nevis although it was covered in clouds. Bed was slightly soft but nothing to complain about. Leisure facilities are slightly dated but appropriate. Hotel appears to be in the process of being renovated but can’t complain for the price we paid.

Easy to find & not too far from Fort William. First impressions were amazing. Although it’s a small apartment, it had everything we needed & was really well thought out with lots of nice little details. The furniture, bed & bathroom were top quality with a nice little welcome pack. Lovely little outdoor area with amazing views of Ben Nevis. Just a short walk from Neptunes Staircase & we were also able to watch The Jacobite pass. The host Sandra made us feel very welcome & we also got to meet her little puppy Monzo

We had been travelling around Scotland for 2 weeks when we arrived here and we just loved relaxing in the huge room with large comfy bed. Beautiful views on the mountains around. Right near Neptunes Staircase lochs and a hotel where we had dinner at a reasonable price. Close to Fort William by car and Ben Nevis area. We welcomed the in room breakfast provided so we could sleep in and head out later in the morning. Friendly hostess.
