well I would recommend in the busy season to get there early...
well I would recommend in the busy season to get there early walk up the lakes from Entrance 1 - best views down when you start - dont walk out to the ferry to cross the lake 9n its a bit of a slow average trip anyway) as the queues can be an hour long instead walk around the lake to the entrance 2 - catch the train from there to the top of the upper lakes then walk down and cross the lake by ferry to the gate 2 and catch the train back to gate 1 - this avoids all the queues around the ferry from the mid lake to gate 2 and you get a nice quiet walk around the lakeGuest review byChrisNew Zealand
