The hosts are really really kind! The hostel is just in front of the Mitsumata resort. You can also buy cheaper tickets here. And the meals they prepare are delicious. I enjoyed my stay here, and need to learn Japanese and come back again:)

My stay at this hotel exceeded all expectations. The ski-in & out feature provided unbeatable convenience, directly connecting us to the slopes. Our room was not only comfortable but offered stunning mountain views, making it the perfect retreat. Dining was a treat, with a fantastic breakfast buffet and meals that showcased local flavors. Above all, even the staff communicated through the translator, their exceptional service made us feel genuinely cared for.

Gala has lots of lift and runs.

Gala has lots of lift and runs. It was very well managed and a great place to ski. Lots of runs, including on the back side of the hill. With so many lifts, there were not long lines (when we went). Food options are great. Lockers are available for rent and parking is free. However, you need to take the gondola to the top lodge so you are walking and carrying gear quite a ways. The lockers are at the lower lodge, so anything you might want to have with you during the day must be brought to the top lodge or you have to take the gondola back down to get it. It is not as convenient as other resorts. Also, they did not have night skiing.
