The staff were excellent and very helpful. The hotel has a nice outside deck and view of Nikko and the mountains. It also has a common area where one can eat their own meals. The value for money was fantastic as well.

We had the most wonderful time at the hotel! Staff were very professional and welcoming, breakfast was outstanding, the whole stay very relaxing! Onsent was incredible. The hotel is located by beautiful lake, great for walks and long runs!

Incredible experience from start to finish. I only stayed one night, but I felt immediately at home and could not have been happier. The private, in-room onsen was the highlight of the room without question. Such a wonderful way to unwind and I spent hours in there. They keep the onsen very hot, hotter than most I've been to, but it's easy to add cold water to cool it down and if you go too far, a call to the front desk will have hot water piping back in. I enjoyed soaking while watching the snow fall through the open window - and was very comfortable! The room was extremely spacious with sliding partitions for each area, so if traveling with a partner or family, it would be easy to create privacy when needed. In-room amenities were great. Nice lotions, soaps, etc. Lighting in the room was very nice - I believe about 6 different settings you can choose from to create the mood you're looking for. The meals were absolutely top notch and unforgettable, both the dinner and breakfast. I can't say enough good things but the food surpassed all my expectations. Simply lovely. Checking in and out was very smooth and simple. It was easy to catch a taxi from directly outside Tobu Nikko station and when it was time to leave, the staff called a taxi for me.

Been here many many times over the last few years, is the best value for money in Nikko. Super close to the station, lovely rooms with good views, onsen in the building, and overall always a great vibe!

- Excellent location - In-house onsen was a big plus (a sauna room would easily upgrade this stay to 5 stars) - Free toiletries and amenities - Very nice and helpful staff – the bus timetable information in the common area really helped me to plan my trip to Kegon Falls - Easy early check-out at 6 a.m. (just dropped the key) - Very comfortable room, perfect for solo travelers

The host Makoto was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Also made great recommendations of where to eat and where to visit. He also offered a 2hr sightseeing tour which I'd highly recommend. Great location right across the road from Kegon Falls.

The property is a hidden gem!! Right in front of kegon falls. The rooms were very neat and clean. The host Makoto San was very nice and kind and very hospitable. The place felt very safe and the host went out of his way to explain everything and explain about the area and the top spots and was making sure everyone was comfortable. Breakfast is very good. Lots of sweet potatoes. And last but not least the price for the stay is a steal. Would visit again in summer.

The location is great and beautiful. 10 min walk to Kegon Falls.. Beautiful view from my room. There are both dinner and breakfast served, and they were superb that I recommend that you do not skip them. There is also a complimentary private osen, too. The bed and pillows are great very me and I slept well as the area is quiet, peaceful at night.

We had an easy overnight stay in this hotel. The hotel is very close to the train station and it's easy to get a bus to Nikko Heritage area and Kegon falls / Lake Chuzenji. The hotel also has free lockers for luggage storage, making it stress free for those on tight itineraries. Overall it fitted our needs perfectly. We didn't try the breakfast so can't comment on that.

Perfectly located near the major heritage sites in Nikko, and on the main bus route to most of the nature sightseeing (Chusenji Lake, Kegon Falls, Senjogahara marshland). Decently maintained place.

Absolutely enjoyed my stay at Nikko Beans. Rented a car and the location was really convenient; it was near most attractions in Chuzenji such as Kegon Falls, and was only a 30min drive via the winding 48-bend Irohazaka. The room was clean and the hosts served up wonderful breakfast and dinner each day (half board). Found myself looking forward to dinner each night!

Very warm, good-sized room, very friendly, kind and helpful hosts looked after our luggage after check out. Have food you can buy in case you don't want to eat out (limited shops and restaurants after dark!) Beautiful location overlooking the lake and right down the road from the bus stop. Short walk to kegon falls.

I really loved the view from our room! You are looking into this beautiful lake! Bus stop is just a minute away and a little town is charming. Close by you have Kegon falls too! To reach all most visited shrines is about 30min by bus. Please note bus goes through extremely mountainous road so be prepared! The property itself is clean etc, however I do agree with some comments that is missing it’s identity. It have potential to be really amazing boutique hotel but at the moment is just plain and a bit basic.

The location is very good. It's just 300-500m from kegon falls. Rooms are spacious despite having three bunk beds with a capacity of six adults in a room. It's just a guesthouse not a full fledged hotel room so bare minimum expectations were met.
