This is one of the newer museums in Phila, probably built in the early 2010s. It's quite a gorgeous building. The building is a mixture of awe inspiring and replica of the former Barnes Foundation building, which as a mansion in Merion. The collection is very much worth seeing.

Barnes Foundation - allow enough time and energy for the Barnes (here are 23 (?) galleries). I was able to get tickets on a weekday without a reservation, but a friend found that tickets were not available on a Saturday afternoon. Do use either the docent tours (extra cost) or the free audio tours. The signage for the audio tour is poor - some signs are missing altogether, and most are small and not easily noticed given the crowding and the small size of the signs. There are booklets in each gallery that show the layout of each wall in the gallery - they should highlight the audio tours but do not.
