The journey to get there was a bit bumpy, but trust us - it’s absolutely worth it! The property itself is breathtaking, with a beautiful trek that winds through lush greenery. This trail leads to a magnificent old oak tree and a river—an idyllic spot for nature lovers. We stayed in the Tunas Lodge, and let me tell you, the name is perfect. Toucans are everywhere and their favorite hangout spot is right above the bungalow. Watching these vibrant birds so up close was pure magic. The lodge is beautifully designed. One of the highlights was waking up to the sounds of nature and stepping onto the balcony to witness all four species of monkeys casually jumping from tree to tree. The owners are incredibly nice and always ready to help. What truly stands out about Maze Lodge is the owners’ commitment to sustainability. They work with local providers, ensuring that the lodge supports the community and minimizes its environmental footprint. Our stay was short, but we’re already looking forward to returning. Maze Lodge is a true hidden gem for anyone seeking a magical and eco-friendly escape in the heart of the Osa Peninsula.

David and Gootje were great hosts and always went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. On top of that , the property is amazing, rooms were very clean and neat, swimming pool and garden area is perfect to relax. Everything was built with attention to detail to create a great vibe. Great location in the centre of this laid back small surf community. The beach is just a few steps away. Laying on the balcony in the hammock listening to the waves was wonderful. There was a fridge in the room - very useful. The cafe staff and owners are lovely and very helpful.

Our stay at Four Monkeys was a beautiful experience. With Golfo Dulce as its playground, this place offers a stunning natural setting with a peaceful beach, perfect for swimming and relaxing. From the very first moment, I felt a deep sense of calm throughout the entire property. For me, silence is a luxury, and here I experienced several moments of pure joy, surrounded only by the sounds of the forest, animals, and waves. I also appreciated their deep connection with nature and respect for local wildlife, which is evident in how seamlessly the space blends with its surroundings. The bungalows are another highlight. You can choose to leave the curtains open and enjoy almost a 180-degree view of the beach and the surrounding forest. This was one of my favorite aspects, as it allows you to feel even more connected to nature, waking up to the sunrise and falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean and wildlife. The hosts are incredibly kind. Every detail is carefully thought out, from the organization of the spaces to the beautiful open kitchen, which is not only functional but also a visual delight. Highly recommended for anyone looking to disconnect for a while!
