All the staff were so helpful and friendly. The dinner was delicious in Penke bar and breakfast was included too. My room was perfect size, so warm, and towels were provided. Ski rental is available in the lodge. Accommodation is a 2min walk to the slopes. There is a shuttle to the town which brought me to the onsen, food shop and dropped me to the bus. I've never had such incredible service in a hotel! I've already started recommending Penke Panke to friends. Thank you guys!

Very nice and caring owner. Good location for skiers 500 m happo bus terminal. 800 m a coop grocery shop. So everything you need is very close. Big room with shower and toilet. For skiers who want be firstchair everywhere i recomend if you dont have a car you need happo bus terminal so this acomodation for this price is best.

Its a typical japanese house or ryoukan. A polite old landlady is looking after the property and welcomed you. Since I arrived during off peak season (outside ski and hiking season in May), the property is less crowded and more relax. It is generally clean as typical japanese house. The landlady will ask you when to use bathroom so she can prepare the bath in advance and heat up the water (since its off peak season the heater will only be turned on occasionally and on-demand).

    The lady at reception (who, I think, was the owner) was super friendly - we ended up having long conversations with her! So was the rest of the staff. Nice vibes. We liked the ofuro (bath) as well, especially because you could book it and have it to yourself. Breakfast was great and the coffee was excellent, which is not a given in most ski resort hotels! :) All the staples of a ski lodge were there. Spacious drying room, storage, etc. There a chilling area with loads of manga - in Japanese. Nice touch. :)

    Cosy and uniquely decorated ski lodge run by an international staff of young backpackers. It was nice to be able to have conversations with staff and other travellers in a relaxed atmosphere. Good lounge and breakfast bar and loved the funky eclectic interior design of both!
