The owners were very kind and picked us up from the train station at late notice as we didn't have a car. They also dropped us off in town for some food and a trip to the local onsen, for which they gave us free tickets included with the stay. The cottage was very cosy and warm, we went in January and we're almost too hot! Perfect getaway.

I had so much fun here! Loved the staff, good breakfast,big comfy bed, transfers in the morning and the evening, good atmosphere, I got so many friends and played crud for the first time! If I'll come back to Niseko this is the place.

Very nice and clean! Good location. Great breakfast and very nice staff. Room was bigger than I thought. Beds very very comfortable. We liked very much that there was a lounge area available, where you could sit and talk and play games. Also a fridge that you could put personal things in if wanted. Few restaurants in short walking distance. Only a few minutes away from the ski lifts.

The staff were amazing and the beds were unbelievably comfy. The language students were lovely too, and so friendly. Short walk to the closest ski lift and great gear storage area. The facilites were brilliant, amazing kitchen and lounge area too. The perfect spot for a ski holiday in the winter.

The staff is charming and made everything as easy as possible. The breakfast is very good. Also, I would like to point out that we had a problem with the bus and the owner came to pick us up and drove for half an hour to help us. In short, exceptional!

Annupuri had so much to offer—snow, skiing, and relaxing onsens—but booking Lodge 401 was the best decision of our trip. Rhys and his team made our experience truly magical. This was our first time in Japan, and even months before we arrived, Rhys and his team patiently answered all our questions. Once we got there, their support was unmatched—helping with everything from pick-up and ski equipment rentals to booking lift passes and drop-off, all while answering our endless questions. They also created a warm, friendly environment where guests could easily interact. The breakfast was excellent, and the lodge’s location, right next to the gondola, allowed us to grab our skis and hit the slopes—or return—whenever we wanted to. The rooms were cozy, the amenities thoughtfully detailed, and everything was just perfect. Honestly, our family of four (kids aged 15 and 12) couldn’t have asked for more. This was our best vacation ever!
