This place was an absolute experience! The views were seriously breathtaking and most of all if you are looking to relax, connect with nature and have the best time disconnecting this is the ideal place. The food served was really delicious as well. Would recommend this 100% to anyone travelling solo or with a family.

Our stay at the Green Garden Hotel was truly pleasant. The owner was extremely kind. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The rooms were immaculate, beautiful, spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed. A truly relaxing place with gorgeous peacocks strolling around the patio. I highly recommend it, a true gem.

I had a very good time staying at Machcha. Kamal is a great host. :) The bungalow has two rooms with terrace in a beautiful garden. You can hear and see the birds and lay down in a hammock under the trees. The owner makes breakfast with love (fresh fruits, tea, avocado with toast/Roti, smoothie, egg). The location is perfect for exploring Sigiriya Lion Rock or have a day trip to Polonnaruwa. The nature is very nice. ;) Your host can help you with information about tours and what to explore around. It's also easy to connect with other travellers in the hostels around. The rooms are big, clean and very nice. With a big bed and A/C. The family that owns the apartments is incredibly friendly and always available if you need anything. We are truly grateful to have met them and stayed at their place. The room was clean, with enough space for two large suitcases and three backpacks. Traveling with a child, we especially appreciated how much she enjoyed exploring their yard and the surroundings. Breakfast was delicious, and Nimsara’s mom always made sure to prepare something suitable for our little girl as well. Just a few minutes away, there are several great restaurants—especially Wihara Restaurant, where you must try their curry and kottu. There is also an emergency clinic nearby; our child had contact with a caterpillar, so we went for advice, and the staff was very kind and helpful. Before visiting Pidurangala Rock, I read online that it’s best to go with a guide (especially with a child) and that we would need headlamps or flashlights. In reality, the path is well-lit, and no extra assistance is needed, even if you're not in great shape. We had asked Nimsara’s brother to accompany us since we weren’t aware of this, and we are very grateful for his help—such a caring family! Yes, you may find a few frogs in the bathroom, but remember, you're in nature! They won’t jump on you or bother you—they just stay in their place. We had a wonderful experience at Nimsara Lodge and would love to visit again!

The property is placed at the good location - close to Lion Rock and Pidurangala Rock. You wake up with the amazing nature sound and you can really disconnect and rest in the nature. The room is cosy, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! One of the highlights was the host Asela who was very accommodating, professional, responsive, ready to help with arranging tuktuk drive at any time, or many activities you can do in Sigiriya (safari, massage etc). I went for the ayurvedic massage, and can recommend it! :) Highly recommended!! Thank you Asela!

We stayed there for a night and booked this location due to wonderful comments about its owner and location. And it is absolutely true. It is a small yet lovely hotel and also just 5 mins tuk tuk ride from the Sigiriya Rocks. Also very easily accessible to city center and restaurants. The owner is a fine gentleman and really friendly. We forgot our two bags and realised after we got call from hotel and we were around 20 kms away. The owner sent the bags via tuk tuk and did not accept cash for this extra effort done by them. We were really grateful to them.

We booked 3 nights ended up staying for 6 nights nights in the accommodation and then came back a second time because it was so great! The small house with its many windows is simply very special. Starting with the furnishings, the cleanliness and the view. The family there, who are incredibly welcoming, genuinely good people as a bonus they prepare the best authentic home cooked food. As former farmers they take pride in there vegetable garden and are happy to show you what you are eating from garden to table.It's an amazing place to relax, surrounded by nature with the lake and the view of sigiriya. We can only recommend everyone to stay here. We will definitely come back as soon as we can. What you get for your money here is unimaginable elsewhere.
