Can highly recommend this place! Sri Lankan people are friendly, but this is next level. Super friendly host and his family. The view from our reading nook is terrific, better than the nine arches itself. It’s a spacious room, with a Beamer to watch TV during the rain, and very good bathroom. Part of their service is the outstanding breakfast, served one level below, looking out over the valley. It may be located a bit further from the city center, but they offered to drive us anywhere any time with the TukTuk for low rates, did our laundry, and arranged our taxi for tomorrow for a price we couldn’t arrange for ourselves. Long story short, I highly recommend this place!

Absolutely brilliant, I'm so glad we read all the reviews and found this hidden gem! What a great place, it will definitely keep getting amazing reviews so don't think twice about booking it! Some reviewers thought it was 'out of town' which we thought was hilarious, it's a couple of minutes walk down to the action, but with the reassurance that you can retreat to a peaceful jungle like setting with a really good chance of seeing the resident giant squirrel. Charming, chatty, helpful host who welcomed us with lovely coffee and cake, we felt very spoilt! He organised a very good taxi to the South Coast for a much better price than other places. Thank you so much, you made the trip to Sri Lanka very special!

Best home stay we went in 2 months Sri Lanka. Very beautiful location, middle of nature. We woke up with tea every morning watching the forest wake up and see all the animals Very delicious breakfast and diner. We had diner every night here Owner was so nice and helped us with everything. 10/10 would recommend.

We had a fantastic two-night stay with Vimukthi and his wonderful family. The bed was very comfortable and the view is absolutely stunning. We had dinner there on our first night and it ended up being our favourite meal of our entire trip to Sri Lanka. We also arranged for Vimukthi to drop us to town and collect us in the evenings, and everything went perfectly. The whole family were so warm and welcoming, which made the stay even more special. Highly recommend!

This has been our best stay in Sri Lanka without doubt. Renu is an incredibly inspiring woman, mother and co-owner who will do everything in her power to make your stay intimate, comfortable and convenient. She puts an umbrella in front of your door when it rains; she looks out the window to see how far you are to prepare breakfast; she brings everything to your table and removes it quietly. Not to mention the room, with its high double roofed ceiling that makes you feel like you’re in a nest on a treetop. It’s spacious, spotless clean (no sign of dump despite daily rain in Ella) and everything works perfectly, even though it’s literally a hanging cottage. The view from the bed/balcony is breathtaking and different every day, and you even see the famous train passing at your feet. DIGITAL NOMADS: we had quite good wifi, enough for videocalls most times of the day, but bring a sim card with data just in case.
