I stayed in Lomindra cottage and it was beautiful, comfortable & clean. I was supplied with lots of yummy breakfast provisions, lots of firewood, and seeds to feed the birds. It was a wonderful opportunity to disconnect from the busy world and be in nature. I loved how private the cottage was. The local wildlife was superb, and the cheeky alpacas were a treat! It was a short 10 min drive into the heart of Lakes Entrance. The host Peter was very friendly and had local recommendations. Note to guests that there is no wifi and very limited mobile reception. I will be recommending Araluen Cottages to my friends and will definitely return as I pass through again.

We chose this establishment because it is so close to the Grampian Park and not in the middle of the crowded section. Their are two nice hikes close by and if you walk from the cottage the extra 2 miles add to the hikes themselves. The property was quiet, had some basics like oil and salt and pepper, cold water, coffee and tea. The chocolates were a nice touch. The town of Dunkel also provides a few nice options. We chose to buy groceries and eat our meals in the cottage. This gave us the feeling of home in our cozy little cottage. We made a fire each night and cooked out on the grill. The bed was comfortable, the spa tub was fabulous and the TV had Netflix. There was wildlife a few hundred yards away such as Kangaroos and Emus. This was the perfect place for us.
