Lots of hummingbirds, a raccoon came between 10am and 11, and a family of Capuchin monkeys came every day around 2pm. It was a lot of fun to watch them.

Playa Negra Guesthouse is located in Cahuita, right in front of the beach. All units feature a seating area. Some units have a terrace and/or balcony with pool or garden views. The owner was super friendly. The house is located in a beautiful garden, basically your own private nature reserve with sloths, birds, frogs, aguri and more.

Offering a year-round outdoor pool and tropical garden, La Rana De Cahuita is set 5 km away from the centre of Cahuita. Puerto Viejo is 18 km from the property. We had an amazing time here with my boyfriend. The host was superfriendly, our room was quiet and we had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious as well. I hope we can come back some time!

It is a beautiful jungle paradise surrounded by gorgeous flora and fauna. We were lulled (lol) to sleep every night by howler monkeys. Thankfully I have heard them before or I would have been petrified! It is an easy walk to the town of Cahuita and the national park. The 2 hammocks were great for relaxing, napping and listening to the sounds of the surrounding jungle!
