Rainbow Valley Lodge is located located in Monteverde Costa Rica, in the mountains of Monteverde. It offers lush gardens and rooms with free WiFi and fantastic mountain views. Beautiful rooms overlooking the mountains. The staff were very good at communicating and organising activities or transport. The rooms were well equipped and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The town and restaurants are a walkable distance

This was my favorite part of my trip in Costa Rica. It is magical here and I hope I have that chance to visit again. My only regret is not staying longer. I had the breakfast one morning, which was lovely. The facilities are minimal. This is easily managed if planned for. There is no fridge in the little pod I stayed in, but there is a microwave. The microwave was enough for me to have a couple small meals. People have mentioned more counter space would be nice. I found it good enough. I had my things organized under the bed. Having the travel packing pods was useful. It is remote, and I suggest bringing in your own drinking water. I didn't get sick or anything, but as a precaution, that is my advice. There are lovely outdoor seating areas. I traveled with a small collapsible chair. It was great for this location, as well as when I visited beaches in other parts of the country. There are great knock off versions of the helinox chairs. If you bring one for your trip you won't regret it. This place is very special, and I offer these little tips so that you can enjoy this accommodation as much as I have. I cannot express enough how beautiful and magical the location is with the surrounding jungle covered mountains. For context. I am a solo female traveler. I felt very safe in this remote location. I had a suv rental from Adobe (very excellent car rental). I didn't need the 4wd, but had it been raining, then I likely would have used it a bit. Definitely need the high clearance on the vehicle. There was only 1 spot that required the clearance when i visited. I used the downhill assist when driving into the valley. That was very useful, and easier on the brakes. Driving back from Santa Elena in the dark was fine for me. Thank you to the hosts for having such beautiful and unique accommodations.

Mike was super nice and helpful, responded quickly with our questions and requests before and during our stay, always willing to help and making sure things are ok.

Don't miss this special accommodation. Sleeping outside in a Coco which is kind of a tent but with high facilities, including private toilet and shower and enough room for your luggage. Super fun facilities including pool, sauna, gym , water slide and ping pong table . Delicious breakfast and incredible view in the morning. BTW roads are better, no really need for 4×4.

This is like luxury camping, where the place is a mix between a tent and an apartment. We had a nice view of the mountains, which we enjoyed from our terrace with a hammock, and we cooked on the gas stove. It was so peaceful. My biggest fear was sleeping without air conditioning, but we slept well. The beds are comfortable, and the fan and fresh air were sufficient for good sleep.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Something deeper in the jungle yet close to Uvita and the coast. Just the peace and quiet and closeness to Nature I needed. And the cabin has no glass windows, just screens, so you can hear the music of the jungle very clearly. Nights were spectacular. I loved falling asleep to the symphony of the the surrounding wilderness and waking up to the sounds of roosters and howler monkeys (: The property has access to a river and mini waterfall which was very tranquil and serene. The drive to the cabin was a fun little adventure in itself and 4x4 is recommended. The hill that leads down to the cabin is ultra steep but you have the option to park atop the hill and walk down which is a short jaunt. The host, Wouter, was amazingly attentive, personable, and chill. He would always respond to my questions/ messages quickly. You could not ask for a better host. I can recommend Loft del Rio with total confidence and rate it a perfect 10. If you are looking to experience an immersive jungle experience that is also close to the coast, this is it.

We originally planned to stay at Jungle Living Tree Houses [1] for just one night, but the place is so magical that we immediately extended our stay to two nights. And we don’t regret it for a second! The accommodation is absolutely amazing. Spending a night in a tree house in the middle of the jungle is an unforgettable experience. Everything is clean, comfortable and blends perfectly with the surrounding nature. A big plus deserves the owner – he is incredibly helpful, friendly and was able to arrange all the activities and transfers for us to our complete satisfaction. Thanks to him, our stay was even more enjoyable and carefree. We highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for peace, adventure and great service in Monteverde. We will definitely be back!
