Skiing is possible within the area and the lodge offers ski storage space. The breakfast was a nice mix and excellent value. Comfy lounge area. The location is amazing (cut through directly across the road to the ski run) very close to dinner/bar options and convenience stores. The owner/host, Miwa, is absolutely lovely, very welcoming and helpful. I took advantage of ski rental delivery. Very nice to have the small onsen. Stunning view of Mt Yōtei, if you’re lucky.

Okadama Airport is 89 km away. -The wood fire sauna which you have to set up by yourself is a must try experience at least once in your lifetime!! -The mattress were one of the best we had came across! -Mount Yotei just right in front of you the whole time, while in the Sauna or wake up laying on the bed! -Even though is in a camp site but how quiet it was and the private space we had was awesome!

American and Asian breakfast options are available at the lodge. The Moving Inn Tokachi was a real gem and definitely one of the highlights of our road trip around Hokkaido. The staff were amazing - especially Reijun san - who ensured an incredibly relaxing and pampered stay. I would really recommend including meals with your accommodation - everything was locally sourced and delicious - eating dessert reclining beside the fire pit was great. We loved the sauna and spa pool that were fuelled by fire and the icy plunge pool. Despite the small size, everything that you would ever think you’d need was available - including bear repellant spray. The location is really beautiful and although at first we were nervous about bears, the electric fence surrounding the property and the surveillance system put us at ease. The take away iced tea drinks on our departure were a lovely touch. Looking forward to re-visiting during the different seasons - need to stay longer than one night!

Towels and bed linen are featured in the lodge. A beautifully renovated wooden house, it feels like living in a fairytale. Very charming and comfortable . A lovely bbq inside the living room, very comfortable beds and an amazing playroom for little kids. Even if it is cold outside, kids will not be bored! The owner was super nice and he made many of the wooden parts himself! There are plenty of options to enjoy the snow in front of the house ( sledges etc).

The lodge offers a buffet or continental breakfast. Everything was perfect at Lodge401. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We felt very comfortable, there is a great and relaxed atmosphere. The accommodation couldn't be better located, you only have to walk 1 minute to the lifts. Great job, Rhys and team 👌
