Great attention to detail with many nice amenities. Loved the big dining table and comfy couches, outdoor sitting and grill were great, too. Ample bedrooms, with 5 toilets snd 2 showers. Loved having a kind of secret staff that did the dishes every night. Host was immensely helpful in making recommendations and providing advice.

Great breakfasts including - at our request - sampling of local / Japanese breakfast specialties Close, ~ 1 kilometer from Mt. T ski area and gondola ride. Very friendly staff. The proprietor Kieren is Australian. He is really tied into the local culture. Mentioning his name and flashing his business card brought big smiles and compliments, and discounts a local ski resorts, hot springs, and restaurants.Casual informal atmosphere at the lodge, and a very nice bar / taproom in the main downstairs area, with a nice central woodstove. We felt like family. Kieran's assistant Nanna was also super friendly and engaging to talk to.

Our accommodation was a semi-detached house in a group of two, with a living room, bathroom, and kitchen on the ground floor, and two bedrooms on the first floor, all with nice wooden floors. There is plenty of space inside, plus a lovely terrace and a small garden outside. The house is located on a hill with a view of the valley. The driveway to the upper houses is steep and includes a 180-degree turn. We stayed there for two nights and really enjoyed it. Check-in was contactless and easy. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is also a washing machine and dryer, which are perfect for longer stays. All in all, it’s a very nice accommodation surrounded by nature that invites you to stay longer.

Set among Nikko’s peaceful forests and mountains, Nikko Park Lodge Mountain Side offers homely accommodation with free Wi-Fi just steps from hiking trails. Kindest people !! The owners are lovely, definitely made our stay memorable. We asked for few different favors and they were happy to help. The owner also gave us a few lifts to Nikko station and to Kirifuri waterfalls which was very convenient for us. The hostel itself is old but nice and cozy. There is no option to cook but a buffet in a reasonable price is offered and great food. Also you can buy some snacks and beers and wine if you like. Location is about 15-20 minutes from Nikko station, depending on your pace. A bit uphill to the hostel from the station but nothing serious. The price is very much affordable and I found the value for money very good. Highly recommended!! Enjoy 😄
