Rain Forest Inn is located in Bertam Valley amidst the lush rainforest and cascading waterfalls. It offers locally handcrafted rooms from which views of the surrounding nature can be enjoyed.
Located amongst native villages, this property is located at least 30 km from Brinchang and Tanah Rata of Cameron Highlands.
We brought our kids to stay at the Rainforest Inn because we wanted a unique cultural experience that is very different from the usual touristy attractions in Malaysia. In that aspect, Rainforest Inn greatly exceeded our expectations.
For 3D2N, we lived a lite version of the Orang Asli Malaysian aboriginal lifestyle in a wooden traditional chalet hut, hand-built by Orang Aslis using trees from their land. The traditional chalet came with modern comforts like clean towels, bedsheets, blankets, thick spring mattresses, mosquito nets, electrical sockets and a fan. It was ensuite with a modern flushing sitting toilet and shower.
We feasted on the Orang Asli dinner where rice was painstakingly wrapped in leaves and cooked in bamboo for hours. Their pineapple was especially sweet and tender. Their grilled chicken and mushroom bamboo soup were delicious too.
We found it very meaningful to interact with Orang Aslis on their private land. Our kids played on a bamboo raft in a crystal-clear knee-deep stream with friendly Orang Asli children who came to play soccer, basketball and splash around. We learned from Mr Muin, an Orang Asli, about their hunting traps, weapons, tattoo/shampoo/moisturiser plants, and constructions and crafts using jungle bamboo and rattan. You can walk nearby to explore a modern Orang Asli school and village or trek with Mr Muin for 4-5 hrs into the jungle to visit a traditional Orang Asli village.
For those who like tiny wildlife, there are tiny shrimps hiding around the rocks in the waterfall, small fishes in the stream, fireflies in the compounds at night, and beautiful and interesting moths and insects that visit the chalet at night. The cooling not-very-humid temperature of the highlands made living within the jungle pleasant.
Gee Tatt was very friendly, responsive, informative and hospitable. He went the extra mile to obtain small bamboo pieces for my kids’ nature crafts. We had an amazing time there.

Wow, what a place! It truly gives off a Scottish vibe — from the cozy ambiance to the charming little details scattered all around. You can feel the owner’s passion in every corner, with carefully arranged decor, unique statues, and personal touches that create such a warm and inviting atmosphere. We stayed in the suite room, which was absolutely lovely. However, the breakfast was a bit pricey for the portion size. Still, the overall experience was unique and memorable — definitely a spot worth visiting for those who appreciate character and charm!

The garden is beautiful and lovely. The weather as well. Its a small boutique lodging house with at least 6 individual units run by a friendly family. The children enjoyed their loft bed. There is parking in the compound, and as others have commented, it can be limited if there's too many cars, but I was able to park my car in the compound both nights we stayed. Although the room did not have a fridge, the hosts were accommodating and put the items that needed refrigeration in their own fridge.
I've a long history with this place & been to this resort since they are still known as Travel Lodge. I'm very satisfied staying here as its near to all the places that i frequent when i am in cameron. Breakfast was good especially the fried rice & fried noodles. Tasty. Room was crisp clean. Restroom was even equipped with toothbrush set.
Nice, simple no frills lodge. Receptionists speak very little English so communication is challenging.
Unfortunately I am a person that like to skip breakfast. So I am unable to comment about it. But the location is nearby a lot of shop that you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner such as Family Mart, Tealive, and others. It is also just 7-8 minutes to reach Cameron Valley Tea 1 and 2 if you ride motorcycle. 5 minutes from the lodge there is DIY shop. The owner also generous enough to keep my luggage 2 hours after check out.
Golden lodge is a great location and close to everything. The rooms are clean and comfortable and staff very friendly. Would recommend staying here.
Everything was perfect .well equipped .Almost had everything one needed .The wifi connection was good .The house was clean and spacious and well maintained. The host was super helpful .Will definitely lodge here again.
Overall we loved our stay at this place. We booked a family room for 3pax, the rooms were clean, very quick check in. They were also very responsive to messages and calls. Towels, hangers, and toiletries were provided. The place was generally quiet. There was also an open pantry with a supply of water, and facilities to heat your food. Also the room had a balcony. Within the property there were also quite a number of tables and chairs where you can sit and chill. The lodge is also close to many convenience stores, food areas and banks.
The breakfast fare was pretty good and the F&B service staff on the first morning of my stay were very attentive. The next day they seemed a bit short staffed. The water pressure at the shower was good making showers quite enjoyable. On my second night the guests a floor up were very noisy with kids running around screaming, way till almost midnight. After I lodged a complaint at the front desk, it was taken care of quite promptly and it quieted down enough that I could sleep. My thanks to the night shift staff for taking care of that.
Its a good lodged
