Boasting a tennis court, a private boat jetty and a heated outdoor pool, Riverside Matakana is located on the banks of the Glen Eden River. Loved the view, the location and the facilities. The simple layout with two bathrooms and laundry was great! We’ll definitely be back again for a longer stay.

Where do you start. Honestly the best part of our stay were the beautiful hosts- Peter and Caroline, who really cared about our stay. They catered to our every need and every detail was well thought out and executed. By the end of our stay we felt like we have gained amazing lifelong friends. The view was breathtaking and we loved watching the sky and waterways change with the time of day and weather, it was like a painting. The quality of linen, outdoor settings provided for comfort and entertainment were perfect. The pool, spa and walking paths down to the private beach were perfect. There is absolutely nothing that we did not like- it was perfect for our 25 wedding anniversary

The lodge was a perfect setting for our stay, we fortunately had pretty awesome weather so could make good use of the lovely outdoor decks. Our apartment was clean and well set up. Fiona, our host, was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The lodge itself is just a short walk from Tryphena Bay, with an easy visit to the pub, cafe and local store.
