The location is perfect, right on the hiking trail to Gocta waterfall, with a beautiful view of the falls from the property. The village is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature. Mario is an exceptional host — he knows everything about the area and made us feel completely at home. He even made us a delicious homemade pizza with a purple corn crust — everything organic and full of flavor. We saw hummingbirds in the garden and many other beautiful birds around the property. It’s a great spot for bird lovers and nature lovers in general. If you’re coming to Cocachimba, don’t hesitate — Casa de Mario is the perfect place to stay!

Both WiFi and private parking are available at the lodge free of charge. We loved everything in the lodge: the tastefully decorated and recently built Cabanas, with huge bathroom, super comfy beds and cute terrace with view on the Gocta cascade, set in a stunning well-kept garden. We could not use the natural water pool as we were in winter season, but it looked very inviting. The staff all from the local village is very friendly and they served one of the best breakfast in Perú.

Rooms at Gocta Andes Lodge come with bed linen. They feature a balcony, a seating area and a private bathroom which has a shower and comes with free toiletries. Guests can enjoy a mountain view from the room. The location, the view, and the staff were great. All the people were very friendly

With garden views, Utcubamba River Lodge is situated in Nuevo Tingo and has a restaurant, a shared kitchen, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. The food was excellent. This hotel is close to the gondola that goes to Kuelap. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Shower was nice and hot.
