Our balcony private double room was a good size, nice views over town, warm comfortable bed and good hot shower with pressure. Ricky is a terrific host, smiling, happy and wanting to ensure you have the best experience possible. He helped with taxis and tours and was always willing to chat or help with anything. This isn’t 5 star- it is authentic, local guy making a lovely hostel for guests to enjoy.

Eva and Ivan are exceptional and received us very well, they are always available to help and share experiences. It felt like home. The breakfast is delicious and different each day. The rooms are spacious with a nice view. Next time in Huaraz I will definitely stay there again.

The Lazy Dog Inn also offers packed lunches. The main lodge area is very cozy, with many books and games, and I played Scrabble with a friendly German couple there in front of the fireplace. The manager was able to arrange driver service, since it is somewhat remote from the town itself, in a nice setting.

Cuesta Serena is a boutique hotel offering accommodations with free WiFi access in common areas and mountain views in Anta-Huaraz. Perched high in the Andes the hotel boasts a location only minutes from the Anta airport. WOW this hotel blew us away. The new refurbishments were so beautiful, the designs were elegant and unique and the food was phenomenal. The healthy and delicious menu was the exact thing we were looking for before the huayhuash trek (still dreaming of the buddha bowl). What really set this property aside was the staff. We loved meeting and chatting to the team, they were really informative about the huayhuash trek as they had actually been guides in the past- this was so helpful for us and reassuring. This property is the perfect place to stay before or after any hiking/ trekking in Huaraz/ the Cordillera Blanca- I can't reccomend enough!
