During my recent trip to the Philippines, I had the pleasure of visiting some of its enchanting islands, and in the Pilar area, I found myself staying at the Forest Garden Residence, a small yet incredibly beautiful lodge. The place exuded tranquility and stunning natural beauty, but what truly made my stay special was the wonderful family running the place. Ms. Joanna and her daughter were some of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met. They were always ready to answer all my questions with love and passion, making navigating and exploring the area much easier and more enjoyable. No request was left unmet, and their continuous assistance added a great deal of comfort and joy to my stay. If you're planning to visit the Philippines, I highly recommend staying at the Forest Garden Residence. It won't just be a lodging experience; it will be a unique human experience that will add a touch of warmth and hospitality to your journey, one that you will remember forever.

It’s hard to call this place a hotel – it feels more like a second home, surrounded by a beautiful garden, with dogs, a cat, and geckos. Perfect for those seeking authenticity and relaxation. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

The hammock is great. The food was really good and fairly priced. There were fireflies! Super cool place to stay if you’re looking for a secluded break from the hustle and bustle.

The hospitality of the resort's respected owners is number 1! They made us feel more welcome and "homie". Thank you 🙏🙏 They spent time talking with us and hanging out with us with their cute puppies. I called them Queen Lexie & Princess Hearty. You guys will fall in love with them. Puppies are very friendly & know how to entertain guests as well. - The accomodation location is so near to the Airport. - Home-cooked breakfast is so yummy and very affordable. - The interior design of the rooms is so cozy & elegant, the AC is so cool & quiet, each room is very tidy, clean, smells good, (definitely no smoking inside) and there were absolutely no insects or pests inside the rooms. - No shower heater, but I did not mind, no big deal, manageable. - The pool has a sauna and waterfall — OMG we loved it, and we enjoyed it! - With free toiletries. - Fresh & smells good sheets, linens, towels. - Outdoor area, not too bad for insects, despite the location being surrounded by a bushy area. - Rough road going to the resort, but we didn't mind, most of the resorts located in back road areas are the same. That is what is in Bohol, so no big deal, all worth it! it does not affect the accomodation and overall holiday in Bohol itself, and they will help you with transport. TukTuk is very affordable & prompt, and the drivers are very knowledgeable about tourist area destinations. - The resort itself is very near the Alona Beach area & accessible to different restos, bars & beaches. And also near the point area for going to Oslob, Cebu for whale shark watching. - The resort is very quiet & peaceful. I can't barely hear roosters or dogs. - Personally, I was content just to chill at the resort the whole day. - Grab or Food panda is available in the area. - Accomodation rate is very affordable. - See you again Lexie & Hearty ☺️ Highly Recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The rooms are comfortable, each with an en-suite bathroom, reliable hot water, air conditioning, and a fan. The cleanliness is impeccable, and the entire place has a wonderful sense of order and care. What truly sets this place apart is the warm hospitality of the owner, who even offered me a complimentary ride to Maya Port to catch the ferry to Malapascua—an incredibly kind gesture! To top it all off, complimentary coffee and tea are provided in the morning, making the stay even more delightful. Highly recommended!

The staff was amazing, very flexible and helpful recommending places to eat and assisting for any issue. Indeed, in my case I did not have enough pesos for the bus to cebu (also the bus stop is in front of the place) and they helped me reach the required amount and lended an umbrella while waiting… salamat po!

My stay in Tavern rooms was great! The room is spacious, everything was clean, the location is great. Close the tourist area, but far from the noise. But close to many restaurants and to the beach. The air conditioner worked really well, tv, and fridge. You have a table and chair, place to put your things. I could wash my clothes and had a place to hang outside to dry. Bed and pillows comfortable. The front porch in each room is very convenient. The only problem was the internet that didn’t work very well. Sheilla, the host, was completely amazing, very helpful, available and kind. Is possible to go to tours with good prices and she can take you there.
