The host, Johan, was really nice and hospitable and the location itself was lovely as it was remote and allowed us to gaze up at the aurora without light pollution getting in the way. Unfortunately I believe those were the only two reasons I was not entirely disappointed with my choice.

This hotel is in Abisko, just 2 minutes’ walk from Abisko Östra Train Station. Abisko Mountain Lodge’s in-house restaurant Brasserie Fjällköket has a seasonal menu based on locally sourced... The location is good and the bar is very cozy, the food at the lodge is fantastic, all staffs are very helpful.

We will be back soon. The location is perfect for exploring the northern part of Norrbotten (Swedish Lapland). We went to Abisko (twice), Nikkaluokta, Kebnekaise, Jokkmokk, Karesuando, Kaaresuvanto (Finland) and Narvik (Norway) - and other places. We really enjoyed the midnight-sun experience that you can get above the polar circle at summertime.

Surrounded by forest, Aurora Camp Kurravaara is right by the Torne River, 13 km from Kiruna Airport. Facilities include a sauna and a furnished terrace. Aurora Camp is such an authentic place, one of a kind. There were many activities to choose from, but our focus was the chance of seeing the Northern Lights. That's why we chose the Panorama Cabin and we were lucky enough to experience the lights two night in a row from the conform and warmth of our bed.
