A highlight of our experience was meeting a beautiful Masai family on the beach, accompanied by joyful children who filled the moments with laughter and connection. Our daughter formed a heartwarming bond with their son, creating memories of pure joy and wonder. Their presence added a soulful depth to our time in paradise, making our stay truly unforgettable. Leaving Anada was difficult — it became a sanctuary of peace, warmth, and togetherness. I had an amazing experience at this hotel! Everything was excellent from start to finish. I booked a package that included breakfast and dinner, and every meal exceeded my expectations. Special thanks to Chef Kilash, who prepared delicious meals with great care and creativity. Also, I truly appreciated the restaurant supervisor, who was very attentive and ensured everything was perfect during my stay. What made the experience even better were the privacy and luxurious amenities — a private pool, a beachfront location, and a spacious, comfortable room. It was the perfect combination of relaxation and elegance. Thanks to the administration.

I could honestly write a 10-page article in praise of Shanuo. Firstly, yes. It’s every bit as beautiful as the pictures would have you believe. (With that said, there’s no way to truly capture the beauty of this place through a camera lens. You just have to go there to see that for yourself). Surrounded by coconut trees and brightly coloured tropical flowers, the bungalows overlook the Indian Ocean - a morning dip is a must! My room was clean and comfortable and I was provided with everything I might need during my stay. Although Shanuo doesn’t have its own restaurant, I can honestly say this has no impact on your stay at all. The breakfasts are generous and Shanuo provides drinks and snacks (at a small fee) if you’re feeling peckish. There are several neighbouring properties along the beach with restaurants. I promise you won’t go hungry! Secondly, the staff are incredibly accommodating and helpful, and you’re guaranteed to be met with a friendly smile and an enthusiastic “Jambo” 100% of the time. If you need anything, you just need to look up and someone is there to assist. A big thank you to everyone at Shanuo, but especially to Na who brought my breakfast every morning and who I had lovely chats with, to Daniel who cut copious amounts of fresh aloe vera to tend my sun burn, and of course to the manager, Gillian, who is energetic, friendly and builds meaningful connections with her guests which she uses to tailor her travel tips especially to your needs. This team creates an atmosphere that truly makes you feel as though you’re ‘coming home’. There’s so much more that I could say, but anyone reading this will begin to think I’m exaggerating. I’m really not. Do yourself a favour and just book! I’ll certainly be coming back here on my next Zanzibar adventure.

A wonderful cozy and friendly place to stay. The shared meals were such a nice addition after traveling and eating solo. The staff are so attentive and friendly. It’s clean and has everything you need, including amazing meals by the chef. It’s also literally right on the beach, the water comes up to the doorstep making swimming very convenient. I highly recommend!

Located on the coast of Kiwengwa, Zanbluu Beach Hotel offers ocean and garden views. The property offers an infinity pool with views of the ocean, as well as a pool bar. This was such a special property. It felt so boutique because of the fewer number of rooms. The food was so good. The drinks were good as well. Views were amazing. The staff was so wonderful. There was even entertainment each night.

Evergreen Bungalows offers beachfront accommodation in Bwejuu. The property has a private beach area and bike hire and car hire are available. Zanzibar City is 37 km away. The location is wonderful, quiet and absolutely relaxing. The bungalow where we stayed did not have all the comforts like an hotel room, but we knew what we were doing when we booked here, we wanted to be immerse in the nature and that was exactly what we got, we even had the pleasure to see a little monkey on our balcony one day. All the people working at Evergreen are super polite and available, the way the treated us was unbelievable, it will be very hard to forget them. The beach in front of Evergreen is not crowded like Paje, and on top of that there are very few beach boys, one day we went in Paje and regretted it because we were stopped every 2 minutes by people trying to sell you something, so we decided to come back at Evergreen. Another crazy thing is the food, litterally everything was delicious, and we tried almost the entire menu during our stay. Also we cannot fail to mention Alawi, he will be your point of reference for every tour around the island, we did many tours thanks to him, and he was so sweet to give us gifts the day we left, so we really cannot forget him, and also Yusuf (our driver) which we fell in love with. This place really left something in our heart and in our memories. If we’d ever come back to Zanzibar this is the only place where we’d want to stay. A huge thank you goes also to Claudia and Mustafa, they did a wonderful job at Evergreen you can fell their love for this place, and on top of that they were very helpful. It is impossibile to not drop some tears the day you leave.
