The rooms are very clean and spacious. I highly recommend to anyone staying in Cat Ba that doesn't want to be in the busy town center but still very close. The owner and his family are another reason why staying there is so good. They are super helpful and kind and always ready to help us with any questions or to book tours/bus, etc. The food there is really good and authentic as well. Definitely the best stay in Vietnam so far.

I loved everything about this place, I could live here permanently, the whole place is brilliant and the hosts made it amazing! The location is perfect, not too far from the centre but just far enough, the food and drink, excellent, nothing was too much trouble, the best atmosphere, great vibe, family fun in the jungle, lovely outdoor pool, great dining and socialising area with a pool table, motorcycle hire, advice on trips and tours, absolutely recommend to anyone, from any country, we met some really cool guests too, 100% book it!

Guests at the lodge can enjoy an à la carte or an Asian breakfast. We loved everything about our week-long stay at Lan Homestay. The location was perfect for us to explore the village on a scooter/motorbike (which they have available for rent). It's in a quiet neighborhood on a hill, which is located in hidden valley. The landscaping and grounds are beautiful with an abundance of flowering plants, and jackfruit trees that make the property feel like an eco-resort. The staff works tirelessly to keep everything in perfect condition - everyone seemed to be working around the clock. The included breakfast was very good — with a choice of a beverage and a choice of food and always served with a plate of fresh fruit. We also enjoyed a couple of other meals there and everything we ordered was delicious. Most of all our host, Mr. Chilly was everything you could ask for in a great host. He was super-friendly and assisted us with anything we needed from providing suggestions for things to do in Cat Ba to arranging travel for us back to our Hanoi . We would highly recommend Lan Homestay and will stay here again next time we come to Cat Ba.
