Set on the banks of the Tugela River, 22 km north of Winterton, Tugela River Lodge features self-catering accommodation 13 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve and 22 km from Winterton Museum. We really enjoyed our time at Tugela River Lodge. There’s so many things to do within the property like kayak, mountain bike, trails, and little farm area. It’s very clean and the staff and owner are super friendly and always willing to assist. The farm stall has a lot of supplies, so if you forget anything you wouldn’t even need to drive out. Very pet friendly as well - everything we could do with our little mini dachshund. She loved her time there and the fenced off area is big and safe. The wood-fired tub is an amazing way to wind down. The view is amazing and Bheki always comes to help fire it up ahead of time. All in all a fantastic experience as a couple, and I’m sure it’d be lovely for a family and friends group too!

Very warm hosts, we really enjoyed our time there and highly recommend it!We had a lovely time!

Featuring a bar, Greenfire Drakensberg Lodge is located in Kruisfontein. The property is solar powered and offers Canadian-style log cabins. The scenery is really something else. You are already quite remote in this part of ZA but once they bring you up with the 4x4 the only people you will encounter are those on the premise itself. The staff is very friendly and the food is great. All in all great value and a very relaxing place with great views and hikes!

Montusi Mountain Lodge offers a bar and is located 44 km from Bergville. Guests receive free Wi-Fi access, a children's playground and a swimming pool. The Montusi Mountain Lodge is really beautiful. The lodge is beautifully located and elegantly designed. We enjoyed the scenic view so much. The bungalows are well maintained. It was really cozy in there. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast & dinner was the best we have had in ZA so far. We wish, we could have stayed longer!

Located around a privately owned lake with views of the Drakensberg mountain range, Sani Valley Nature Lodges offers secluded chalet accommodation in a tranquil setting with game viewing... We stayed 3 nights at the bushman lodge with our two daughters, age 2 and 4. In the five weeks we’ve travelled the country, this accommodation was high in our top 3. It’s remote, but it’s spacious rooms and balcony with jacuzzi, the tranquillity of nature, the views, delicious food, etc, the whole family loved it. Located in Nottingham Road, Gowrie Farm Golf Lodge overlooks a golf course and offers panoramic views of the dam and lush surroundings. It features a sun terrace and a bar. Location was great, staff were friendly and helpful, our check in and out was a pleasure, our room was clean and very comfortable, the outlook was fantastic and our breakfast was exceptional as was the service. The overall decor was lovely too! We certainly hope to return again.

Surrounded by greenery, the Winterton Lodge @ Rose Cottage features a splash pool. Elegantly decorated, accommodation at Winterton includes a TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom. Gorgeous property, large room and common spaces, very friendly service!

Such a lovely gem on a beautiful farm. The owners are such good people. We had car trouble on the way there and Jenny didn't hesitate to offer us assistance in driving us 40mins to the nearest car hire company. They really did go above and beyond to make us comfortable, even through such a stressful event. The farm and units are clean, comfortable and very well equipped. I would definitely go back anytime.
