Shepherds Tree Game Reserve is a lodge concession, located on the south western portion of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and 18 km away from Sun City. The food was amazing and we had a very nice room. The staff was very friendly and we had a good time.

Ivory Tree Game Lodge is located inside the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Surrounded by plains and hills, this luxurious lodge boasts a outdoor pool and award winning spa. Our family of 4 stayed at Ivory Tree for 2 nights and it was a great experience for usnand the kids in terms of accommodation, food and safari game drives. The lodge was spacious and well maintained. We enjoyed the dipping pool in our lodge in between game drives. The food variety was broad, with menus changing everyday. Service staff were friendly and helpful. There was also an africa drum session at dinner on our first night where diners are invited to participate, which was entertaining and fun. We loved the safari game drives which were well spaced - there was one in the early morning and an evening one, leaving you half a day to enjoy other activities. Our guide Syabonga was great at spotting animals and also gave us good information about the plants around.

We loved the tent itself, the hot tub was amazing! The waterfall hike was beautiful as were the rock pools. The farm animals were also lovely to pet. The staff were lovely.

Situated in Madikwe Game Reserve, Tau Game Lodge provides luxury accommodation with air conditioning and access to a private deck. Complimentary WiFi is available. The staff were excellent, they made you feel straight at home and were extremely accommodating. We were never hungry, the food was fantastic and served in a creative way, one evening we had a brai in the bush; an amazing experience! The location next to a watering hole, meant that we had elephants directly outside our room and could watch a variety of animals drink and wash over lunch, you could watch and stare for hours. Lazarus our ranger was excellent, knowledgeable and patient with our many questions. He made us feel at ease around all animals. We also had a great massage, recommend the spa facilities for anybody interested.

Black Rhino Game Lodge offers spacious, well-appointed accommodation situated in Pilanesberg, 33 km from Sun City. Free WiFi is provided and free parking is available on site. The whole lodge experience - location, decor and amenities, wood fired tub, dinner options. The game drives were an outstanding experience and I will definitely be retuning. Our driver, Freedom, was exceptional and I felt we got everything out of the trip we had hoped for.

From the get-go, communication was early and clear from both Lize and Jenni. They provided a ton of information, including details of spa treatments available. The rooms were amazing and so very comfortable. I was glad that there were only a handful.of rooms, as this gave a sense of privacy and exclusivity. Emma, our stand-in game warden, was top-class: enthusiastic and made a real effort to show us the reserve animals,, including predators and rhinos. There was so much food!. :).
