Beautiful setting and old historical pub. Comfortable rooms, big cosy bed and good shower. Breakfasts were excellent, and a table was always booked for us for a wonderful dinner in the evening at a fully booked restaurant. All members of the team were friendly and really helpful. Lovely pub kitty to keep you company in the beer garden. Would stay again if in the area.

A superb location and a beautifully renovated cottage. Our stay was peaceful, calming and we very much felt at one with nature. It was lovely to just open the door and feel the worries of the world slip away. Stylish decor, cosy and warm with the two log burners. A Beautiful welcome basket on arrival. We did not want for anything, everything had been thought of. My son and I felt very at home and will definitely be returning. Zena and Simon are lovely and thoughtful hosts and care very much about your stay ensuring you have everything that you need. My son was very impressed with the dark skies and was glad he brought his telescope! He also caught an otter (on his wild camera) by the river opposite the cottage. Newcastleton (10 minutes or so away) for restaurants, shop (which sells everything!) Pub. Larger towns are within a half hour drive. All set in the most beautiful countryside, it is perfect!!

Loved the seclusion. An unbelievably peaceful place, it must be amazing when the skies are clear. We were unlucky with the weather (for stargazing), but it didn't spoil the experience. A welcome pack and bottle of Prosecco in the fridge was a lovely touch. Spotless and very comfortable, we would love to return.
