John and Clare were excellent hosts. My husband and I needed a quiet escape for my birthday, and they delivered! We're introverted and exhausted parents so the private entrance with coffee and tea was a wonderful touch. The porch was perfect for late night card games. Breakfast was divine! Delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and absolutely perfect. The room was cozy, comfortable, clean, and well maintained. I cannot say enough about this wonderful lodge. Its proximity to Hay-on-Wye allowed for wonderful bookstore browsing during the day. We are already excited to return!

Featuring an on-site restaurant and bar. -The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they couldn't do enough for you. -The building is beaut and very warm and comfortable. -The food was incredible, we had dinner and breakfast and it could not be faulted. -Very warm welcome from Horace! -Very accommodating with room-changes -Location is perfect for where we were visiting and really stunning, very peaceful and rural -Bed was comfortable and there was loads of storage and seating -Giant shower and bathroom makes a nice change from many hotels -Just impeccable vibes, really
