In beautiful Lakeland surroundings overlooking an idyllic brook, Glencree is situated between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. Located in a perfect location within walking distance of a number of eating establishments Breakfast and staff were extremely helpful. Had a room on the top floor with a vertical spiral staircase. Ask for this room. Provided parking which was also a plus. The rate should have been higher as one could not ask for more. Would have paid more without a second thought.

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. Everything was excellent location, room, breakfast and especially the staff.

The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house set in the peaceful area below Biskey Howe in the Lake District. Bedrooms feature walk-in-shower rooms, luxurious toiletries and large fluffy towels. Nice & cozy place with warm & friendly staff that provides respite from the otherwise cold weather! Room is clean & location is close to supermarkets & restaurants. Although the building was built in 1882, the room amenities are quite modern.

Dating from around 1659, the String of Horses is a traditional coaching inn is set in the country village of Faugh, 8 miles from Carlisle and junction 43 of the M6 motorway. The staff, atmosphere and location. The restaurant was also exceptional.

A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. By far, one of my favourite places to stay! We loved the outdoor terrace, the spectacular views and the genuine staff! Not to mention, great breakfast! Also, loved the idea of having dogs allowed - there were so many around which really added to the wonderful ambience :)

Just 1 mile from Lake Windermere this beautiful Victorian house is set in a peaceful location between Windermere and Bowness. The place is very quaint and I loved how each room is themed differently on explorers and nature. Also, loved the fact that we were welcomed to some warm mulled wine( it was freezing outside) Also, the breakfast is amazing !

At night it gets completely dark, which made it possible to see so many stars and even constellations, such an amazing experience. The host was very welcoming and came up to show us where everything was and how to use the hot tub. He was kind enough to fix the hot tub for us as well, which we really appreciated. The accommodation itself is very new, with comfy beds, great heating, and excellent high water pressure. Overall, a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Highly recommended.

Superb accommodation in a gorgeous part of the world. Our apartment was well-stocked, spacious and clean, with an amazingly comfortable bed and fantastic shower. The location is great for walking, and parking was really easy. We really felt like it was our home from home for those few days. Will definitely be returning.
