It had that perfect luxury feel—elegant but comfortable, stylish without trying too hard. The space itself was huge. There were way more beds than we needed, which somehow made it even better. It felt generous, like every detail was designed to give guests more than they expect. Whether you’re traveling with a group or just want extra room to relax, it’s exactly what you’d hope for. The breakfast? Absolutely phenomenal. Fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of variety—easily one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had. It was the kind of meal you look forward to every morning. Everything we needed was included, and the staff made the whole experience feel effortless. The location was also spot-on—central, convenient, and surrounded by the character and charm of Edinburgh. This wasn’t just a place to stay—it was an experience we’ll remember. I’d go back in a second.

Savour a culinary journey produced by our Head Chef, Pier Berretta, who is inspired by Scottish flavours that are impeccably presented in a setting that reflects the elegance of the 18th-century baronial house. Everything exceeded my expectations: location, hotel, room, breakfest, staff. Dining room is a special place to be eating in.

Five star luxury and location right on the Grassmarket
The breakfast and restaurant services are superb. There is a good variety of food, good value for money, and outstanding services. The hotel location is ideal for those departing in the early hours. It is only 15 minutes from the Airport and next door to the chimpanzees and giraffes. We had a very good time at the swimming pool and spa center. It was easy to access and comfortable. The room was serene, and the beds were inviting.
