The beautiful bedrooms include generous work and study space. They feature classic contemporary décor and have refreshment facilities and satellite TV. The luxury bathrooms have fluffy bathrobes and free toiletries, and all rooms have air conditioning and internet access. The room was excellent and very comfy. We received a free upgrade. The English breakfast was excellent (I would have liked baked beans with it). The location is excellent. It is directly in the city centre but on a quiet street.

The contemporary rooms offer complimentary WiFi, a 42-inch flat-screen TV, a walk-in shower and bottled water. Suites feature city views from floor-to-ceiling windows. Basically out the door to the train station, fantastic breakfast and all facilities outstanding. Shame we were only there for one night.

The Lister Arms offers stylish and comfortable en suite rooms with a shower and a TV, some with stunning views. Guests will enjoy an excellent hearty Yorkshire breakfast. Some rooms are in the cottage adjoining the Inn. Other rooms are in Lister Barn, a two minute walk from the Inn, with access to a residents lounge. The room was comfortable and quiet. The food was excellent. The hotel is an easy walk to magnificent trails and natural sites. The staff was exceptional, especially in helping us overcome major transportation problems ; the location is superb, but difficult to reach without a car. The staff was able to find us a driver, albeit expensive, without whom we could not have made our train connections.
