El Remate
With garden views, La Lancha by Francis Ford Coppola is set in El Remate and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. This is likely one of the most beautiful places to stay in Peten, the hotel has incredible views of lake Peten Itza at pretty much every corner. A cool funicular that will take you to the a small dock on the lower part, where you will be able to jump in the lake and continue to admire the scenery. To that you can add really nice food at the restaurant that has enough variety to not taste the same food on a week long trip. But, the best thing about this place is it’s amazing staff, they are so welcoming and friendly, they will treat you like family. They gave us a lot of tips about where to go and how to get there, they always welcomed us back with a smile, a cold towel and a clean room.

Fantastic setting, jungle luxury. Staff were great
The deluxe rooms are very spacious bcz they are like apartments..the workers were very friendly..the pool was good!
A deluxe guesthouse with floral landscape and monkeys, toucans and humming birds. French/Belgium owners and Guatemalan staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent bar and cafe with a good menu. I stayed in a Cabana with a queen sized bed, and good, clean communal showers..
Beautiful property, and the rooms were large and luxurious. The a la carte food was solid.
The location was excellent. The 3rd floor covered deck was an outstanding place to watch the sunset
Central location, strong AC, access to kitchen and powerful fridge. Lake view from the kitchen. Drinking water provided. Bedside tables in the room which is a luxury in budget accommodation at these latitudes.
This is a tightly run place with clean little rooms, 5-star shared bathrooms and a quiet reverence for the surrounding nature that you often get in a conservation area setting. My kid loved the pool. My dad loved the restaurant. We did the sunset tour offered through the lodge with Fernando. We really enjoyed the pace that he set (chill out and go at his speed and you'll get more out of it) and the insights he offered on Mayan Biopsphere ecology, Tikal history and present-day culture of the indigenous people of Guatemala. Really special.
The hotel is oustanding. The facilities are pure luxury, but the biggest difference is the warmth of the staff.
