Established in 1666, Honke Bankyu is housed in a registered historical building. The Japanese rooms feature traditional decor, futon bedding and a flat-screen TV. Literally everything. The hotel is an amazing 300+ year old guest house and scenery from the rooms is amazing. This is a must go Onsen Hotel!

I am afraid our stay at Kinugawa Keisui might have destroyed our expectations towards other hotels for the future. I can only describe it as absolutely outstanding. Beginning with the scenario location next to a forest and a small river, the huge, modern, beautiful and amazingly comfortable room, which didn‘t only feature several small welcome presents, a minibar filled with a wide (and free) variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and huge and comfortable beds, ending at the most outstanding breakfast and dinner consisting I was allowed to witness in Japan, the hotel and the amazingly kind and professional staff made our stay to be nothing but amazing. There are some many small details we could list, such as the outdoor fire place where you can read a book in a calm and relaxed atmosphere sipping your coffee, the bento boxes for travels during the day, the Onsen on your balcony for which you can adjust the temperature to your perfect needs, the entertainment system in your room should you chose to relax here, the staff which gives you privacy should you want it but helps with any need you might have, the fast and stable internet anywhere in the hotel and and and. We usually don‘t book hotels again, but we will definitely return here during our next Japan trip.

Shelter Garden Nikko ligger i Nikko, 2,1 km fra Nikko Toshogu-helligdommen, og har en have, en restaurant og gratis privat parkering. The breakfast was amazing! Delicious and plentiful! The view from our room was breath-taking. Our dinners (we treated ourselves to two) were exceptional and amazing. The second evening the chef changed up some selections for us which was very thoughtful. We also enjoyed the happy hour and playing some gamees together before dinner.

Fufu Nikko ligger i Nikko, 19 minutters gang fra Nikko Toshogu-helligdommen og 3,1 km fra Tōbu Nikkō Station. Her er en restaurant og gratis privat parkering samt gratis wi-fi. This place is amazing -- luxurious yet comfortable. The staff was wonderful. Our room was perfect, as was the ensuite onsen bath, and the food was delicious. We loved our time at Fufu Nikko!

Nasu Onsen Sanraku ligger i Nasu, 27 km fra Shirakawa Station, og har gratis cykler, en have og et fælles opholdsområde samt gratis privat parkering. Fantastic experience I believe we were the only westerners there during our 2 night stay The service from the staff was the best we have ever experienced Everyone from the porter, front desk, kitchen and wait staff were fantastic The level of English was quite basic but this did not hinder our enjoyment at all The onsens really are as big and beautiful as the pictures suggest Westerners should not be afraid of the experience, they have a helpful guide on their website. Please be aware that guests with tattoos are not allowed in the public onsens (this applies for the majority of onsens but some places do cater for tattooed guests) The full Ryokan meal service was incredible So many flavours with the highest quality seasonal ingredients, all presented beautifully on incredible crockery We stayed in a Japanese style room in the east building which allowed us to enjoy a private room experience. Please check with the hotel if they will be able to accommodate this for you, it is worth it in my opinion A special thank you to the kitchen staff who were so delightful We had a travel mishap and phoned ahead to let them know we would be 30 minutes late (we were already booked on the last available time slot). They were very kind in accommodating us and did not rush us through our meal Excellent value for money, we were so satisfied with the experience Fantastic stay, we were sad to leave and we would love to return on our next trip to Japan

The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were clearly the highlight of the stay. They might arguably have been worth the entire cost of the stay, and make the ryokan itself a destination for a quick trip from Tokyo. The setting is beautiful, looking down over a rushing mountain river. The staff were attentive and seemed to be genuinely sweet and caring people.

A 3-minute walk from Tobu Kinugawa Onsen Station, Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel boasts large Japanese-style rooms with a balcony, river views and free Wi-Fi. It features hot spring baths, and a sauna. Everything was exceptional - this was likely the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at! The room was beautiful, the view, the private onsen, it was very cozy! The staff were very welcoming and explained everything to us. The public baths were also so beautiful and relaxing, extremely well-stocked in terms of toiletries and amenities. The food was amazing as well - beautifully served and so very delicious! Couldn't recommend the hotel more!

Kinugawa Grand Hotel Yumenotoki ligger i Nikko, 20 km fra Tōbu Nikkō Station, og har et fitnesscenter, en have og en terrasse samt gratis privat parkering. Exceptional staff, all of them were highly attentive and kind. Outstanding Japanese dinner and breakfast. Our room was Japanese style, and it was gorgeous. Best hotel experience we had in Japan. 10 out of 10, would go back if visiting the area again.

Gorgeous on the outside , poor in the inside. So I marked as this. If you are looking for a place to relax and have a good sleep you SHOULD NOT COME HERE
